Safer communication: inspect, limit contact and report
Practical steps before a conversation, under pressure and before meeting.
Where to find it
Sign in to your account first
In this guide
Messages, calls, photos and badges provide information, but cannot confirm everything someone says or guarantee a safe meeting. Use the built-in conversation to discuss details, keep login secrets private and stop contact that raises concerns. Decide separately whether to block and report; those actions serve different purposes.
Before the conversation
- Open the full listing and compare photos, description, city and other details. Treat reviews as additional context rather than a safety certificate. A new account or missing reviews does not itself prove fraud.
- Review privacy and call settings in your dashboard. Grant microphone or camera access only for the intended action and website. Another person should not need access to your device to “verify” your account.
- Set boundaries for sharing information. Do not send a password, PIN, one-time code, security recovery code, identity document or home address merely to keep a conversation going.
Signals to pause
Pressure and urgency
Someone refuses to accept a no, demands an immediate decision or threatens consequences. Stop and assess the situation away from their instructions; you do not have to justify yourself or continue talking.
Money transfers and external pages
Someone requests a “verification,” “booking” or unlocking payment through a supplied link. Do not enter login secrets there. Open the relevant FayVay section yourself and check whether that operation even exists.
Moving the conversation and inconsistent details
An external messenger alone is not evidence of fraud. Pressure to switch immediately, refusal to address inconsistencies and requests to hide the conversation deserve caution. Platform tools have limited visibility into external conversations.
If contact becomes unwanted
Stop the interaction
Do not transfer money or open more links under pressure. End the call or stop replying. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services; the report form is not an emergency-response channel.
Limit contact
Use the available block control and adjust call permissions if needed. Review blocked accounts in Settings. Blocking limits contact inside the product; it does not erase files someone already received or block external applications.
Report a specific violation
Open Report from the profile or relevant material, select a reason and describe verifiable circumstances. Use Support for technical failures. Keep the relevant link and appropriate event details without publishing another person’s documents or intimate content.
Example: a request for a login code
A user with a support-like name claims your profile will disappear unless you share a login code. Keep the code private. Open Support through the site menu and report the suspicious profile. If you already shared the code, follow the compromised-account guide and inspect sessions.
Common questions
Can I rely on Verified, Premium or an old account?
These signals have different meanings and do not guarantee identity, intentions or safety. Verification relates to its procedure, Premium to a product, and account age to registration history. Assess the current behavior and do not ignore pressure because of a badge.
Must I meet after agreeing?
An agreement does not remove your ability to stop contact. If circumstances change or cause concern, decline to continue. Reporting communicates a violation but does not replace your own decision to stop.
What should I consider before meeting?
Discuss arrangements in advance and choose a location and travel plan you can control independently. Share your plan with someone you trust where appropriate. These steps address particular risks; they are not a platform guarantee of safety.
